Exploring Worship

Without worship, we shrink.

Worshiping Jesus helps grow our connection to Him, deepens our understanding, and works to engage our senses for spiritual awakening.

It also means doing it all of our lives and not just within an allotted time on a scheduled day in the week. However, when we do get together it is a more intense mode of expression that promotes solidarity and renewal to go throughout each week energized by Jesus.

Our worship teams, what we call our "Design Teams," who design the worship liturgy, met at our South Philly congregation to explore and talk about the art of our public meetings and to hone in on how the Spirit is working among us.

Rod White, pastor at Broad & Washington, talked about having a passion for worship and not allowing ourselves to shrink, and that you can't hide as a leader at the front. If you are shrinking, spiritually depleted or otherwise, people worshiping might not be invited to expand. Following that, Gwen White, our Network Teaching Pastor, guided us to listen to God and each other in order to get a clear picture of a public meeting's theme for music and art direction.

The night ended with learning original songs newly created among us, and using them as examples to further hone the worship of every member who dedicates their time and talent for our weekly localized expressions of bringing people closer to Jesus.

Public Meetings are every Sunday at 5pm and 7pm (exception: Marlton & Crescent at 5pm).
